Our collection of coral
calcium does not affect the reefs. Acktiva coral calcium is gathered above sea
(fossilized). Our
collection process does not pollute the ocean in any way.
In fact, our collection process
is safer than methods that collect the coral below sea. Here is a picture of the
vacuum used to collect marine (below sea) coral calcium:

This dredge is used to
collect coral calcium. This method collects coral along with sand - commonly referred
to as coral sand - there is no way to separate the coral from the sand making it
less pure than above sea coral calcium. Fossilized,
above-sea coral is more pure and hence has a higher calcium content.
Turbulance from the
dredging process can cause harm to the living coral reefs:

In our efforts to help the
wildlife, our product is taken in accordance with Okinawa and US guidelines. No wildlife, including reefs, are harmed in the
collection of coral calcium or in the manufacturing process. Here is a picture
of a mine where our coral calcium is extracted from:

This is very pure coral
calcium and is extracted very safely without harming any wildlife. Here is a quote
from Dr. Clacks on his views of dredging for coral calcium:
"I
would have an extremely hard time believing anyone who suggests that this
activity would be benign. Dead corals may act as a substrate for new colonizers,
so vacuuming up even dead corals or coral fragments might hinder the ability of
reefs to recover in the future. Even if dredging/vacuuming is occurring where
there are no (or few) corals, there are certainly other organisms being directly
affected, such as sea whips and anemones, many of which also provide structure
to benthic habitats and thus provide essential ecosystem functions (such as
hiding places for juvenile fish and substrate for various life stages of benthic
invertebrates)."
