Will taking Coral Calcium help me Live Longer?
In theory, Yes. Calcium is needed to support overall health and is essential for our survival. However, I’m guessing your question is a result of what you’ve read about the Japanese, their longevity, and coral calcium’s role in the aging process of these unique people. This hypothesis may have some relevance.
The inhabitants of Okinawa’s southern coral islands (Japan) have an average life expectancy of over 100 years, while the mainland Japanese are less than 80 years of age. Research has shown that these islands are made of coral reefs which are composed primarily of calcium. They have integrated coral sand into all aspects of their lives; including animal feed and fertilization of the land. Interestingly, this has to greater production of animal products and crops harvested. Theories also abound about how the addition of coral calcium to the soil has led to seepage into the drinking water, and the calcium purity of this water source. Some researchers claim that this water is the key to their longevity!
There are many conflicting reports regarding the absorbability of Coral Calcium. Is it really any better than my regular calcium supplement?
